It Is Just The Opposite

Do not worry your mind, just be happy! Everyone has the worry gene. Some people develop the gene more than others. The worry gene tells you that if you worry everything will work out just fine. It is just the opposite. If you do not worry everything will work out just fine.

It is mind over matter. If you do not learn to use your mind to expect something good to happen, it really does not matter. Mark Twain said over one hundred years ago, "It is not what you do not know that will hurt you the most, it is what you think you know, and it just isn't so."

Expect something good to happen! When you do not expect something good to happen; something good happens anyway. However when you expect something good to happen, you participate in making it happen even better.

Three kinds of people. Those people that make things happen. Those people that watch things happen. Those people that wake up and say what is happening here? When you worry you are watching things happen. Get off the sofa! Walk around the block, pick up cans. Do something! Put a stop to the worry gene. You might say, "I can not help but worry. I inherited the worry gene from my Grandmother."

Worry never paid a bill; worry could not climb a hill. The only thing worry can do is worry. You cannot live your life looking back on past experiences. The past was so interesting. The future is pure excitement for those that expect something good to happen! If your expecting misery, your going to get misery. Misery loves company. Forward ever backwards never! Life takes place in a decision not to worry. Your possibilities are located in your own personal expectations. I cannot wait for the next moment to surprise me!

What ever you expect with confidence tends to materialize!

The Steps In The Evolution Of Your Classic Car

This is a short list of things to look for when you buy a classic car, if you do these things it will make you a lot happier with the purchase of your classic car.

1.Locate the right car for you "The Most Important Step", this car need to excite you, it should make you feel like a diamond ring feels to a woman, you should be all giddy, just like a little school girl on her first date.

2.Make sure that you inspect the car, for rust, collision damage, leaks, make sure it doesn't over heat wile running, look under the carpet and floor mats for rust, be sure all the gauges are working correctly, look for electrical problems, like flickering lights, or lights that don't come on, check the blinkers, check the tail lights and brake lights, fire the engine and listen for knocks, clicks, pings and the like, these are all signs that you may have a lot of work to.

3.The test drive, look for: excessive play in the steering, engine running rough or misfiring, brakes that don't stop the car like they should, whining from the rear end or transmission, if it has a standard transmission be fore warned if it pops out of gear, this means that synchros are going bad, and listen for a grinding sound when you press the clutch as this indicates a bad pilot bearing, and if the car has a hard time moving when you let off the clutch this indicates that the pressure plate and disk are bad. If it has and automatic transmission, look for the trans to slip, or not go in to gear like it should, pull the dipstick and look and the transmission fluid to see if it's dark or burned, ask the owner of the car to jack up the front of it so you can move the wheels to check for bad tie rods, this is done by grabbing the wheels one at a time and wiggling the, with your hands positioned and 9 O'clock and 3'Oclock and moving the wheels back and forth.

4.Engine: pull the dipstick out of the engine and look at the oil to see if it's black and sludgy or smells burned, and if it has a with honey looking appearance to it, this indicates a cracked head or a bad head gasket that leaks water in to the oil pan, look at the rocker covers to see if they leak excessive oil, also with the engine running listen for a grinding sound from the water pump or alternator, this indicates that these item are going bad.

5.Also I forgot to mention, while your inspecting the body of the car, be sure to look at the rocker panels for rust holes and bad body work, also look at the quarter panels for rust holes, and bad body work, and don't forget to look at the engine compartment for rust and bad wiring.

These are all reasons for you to get a better deal on the car you choose to buy, use these factors to barter with the owner of the car, point them out and use them to your advantage.

New Book Takes Positive Thinking to New Heights With Green Light Style

Marilyn Schoeman's new book "Go! How to Think, Speak and ACT to Make Good Things Happen" is not just a book about positive thinking. Although it focuses on changing one's thoughts to the positive, Schoeman goes a step farther. She informs us that the power of optimism is overrated because being told to think positive, while a good idea, is not a great idea. It is actually an incomplete thought.

Schoeman takes us the extra step to turn positive thinking into a great idea by explaining that the Green Light Way is the answer. Green Light thinking is "optimism squared (O2). Green Light ramps up optimism by a conscious choice of the specific language used and ACTION taken." Schoeman uses the metaphor of Green Light and Red Light to discuss positive versus negative thinking for multiple situations that remind people to stop and think about whether their thoughts are green or red and then change them to green so they can go forward. Schoeman not only convinces us of the power of positive thinking, thinking the Green Light Way, but she provides numerous examples of how to change our thinking in a positive manner and how to change our words to greener phrases.

In her introduction, Schoeman describes how she came to make the Green Light Way her life path-beginning with a childhood of adversity because of a sick mother, which left Marilyn in charge of making meals for her father and brothers, as well as extra chores on the family farm. Once her mother was better, Marilyn went off to college, but she would not fully unleash her creativity until when at age forty "I learned (believed) I could think." She used her newly discovered power of thought to go the Green Light Way, learning that any problem can be overcome by positive thinking, applying ACTION to it, and creatively thinking outside the box. Far more than just a change in attitude, Green Light thinking has allowed Schoeman to help corporations solve their problems from figuring out how to collect and sell cellulose dust to giving seminars in creativity for industries ranging from banking to petroleum.

Schoeman walks us through the nine principles of Green Light thinking, which include: "The Green Light secret ingredient is ACTION," "Green Light thinking elevates the art and skill of asking questions," "Green Light style starts with the Ideal Scenario," and "Green Light leadership unleashes creativity and fosters innovation." Then Schoeman teaches us how to apply these principles to our daily lives, both at home and work, in our relationships, in our thoughts about money, and in all aspects of our lives. Throughout, she provides humorous and telling examples from her own and other people's lives about creativity being used to find a Green Light way of accomplishing goals, overcoming obstacles, and simply learning to enjoy life in a greener way.

Nor does Schoeman confuse Green Light thinking with denying reality. "Denying reality is a turn toward Red. However many Reds are on the plate to address, to Green them up requires seeing reality first. Green Light environments make it safer and more likely that people actually see the reality of the current situation, and are able to take action to move things to the Greener end of the scale."

Woody Allen once said, "Eighty percent of success is showing up." Marilyn Schoeman proves that showing up Green is the other twenty percent. Beyond one's personal success, Schoeman believes Green Light thinking can expand our possibilities and change the world, removing us from the mountain of Red Light messages to creating a better world where children and everyone can share in a Green Light future.

"Go! How to Think, Speak and ACT to Make the Good Things Happen" offers practical advice and successful techniques that anyone can learn and put into practice. Already a fan of books such as "The Power of Positive Thinking" and "The Law of Attraction," reading Schoeman's book made me realize that by asking ourselves whether a thought is "Red Light" or "Green Light" we can quickly change how we think and feel about an issue, which then allows us to "go" rather than "stop" so we can move toward relief, success, and happiness. I guarantee that after reading this book, every time you see the color green, you will be reminded to "Go the Green Light Way," and you will have Marilyn Schoeman to thank.

Annuity Payments

Annuities are a series of payments made by an institution like an insurance company to the annuitant at regular intervals of time over a fixed time period. The payments are fixed and may be on a yearly, semi annual, quarterly or monthly basis. Generally, there are two types of annuity payments called "ordinary annuities" and "annuities due".

Ordinary annuities require payments at the end of every period until the maturity period of the investment. For example, with bonds, usually the seller pays coupon interest payments to the buyer at the end of every six months. However, sometimes annuity payments will be made at the beginning of each period like a rent payment. These are called "annuity due". Depending on the frequency of annuity payments, annuities can be divided into deferred annuities and immediate annuities. In immediate annuities, annuity payments are made at much frequenter intervals. Deferred annuities will make the annuity holders receive payments depending on the nature of the annuity. If the deferred annuity is a fixed deferred, the holder will get the guaranteed rate of return at regular intervals over the life of the contract. If it is variable deferred annuity, the payments depend on the performance of the underlying investment. This means the annuitant will not receive any guaranteed amount. However, the payments under the variable annuities are tax-free or tax-deferred.

There are several types of annuity payments depending on the nature of the annuity. If the annuitant or the nominee receives payments after the fixed period in spite of any contingency, such payments are called "annuity with period certain". If an annuity payment continues after the death of the annuitant, it is called a "life annuity" payment. If it continues over the annuitant's life or for a fixed period (whichever is longer), it is called "life with period certain". The latest version for annuity payments is called "equity-indexed annuity payments".

It is not advisable for the annuitant to get cash value of the annuity by cashing out, unless the annuitant is under financial stress. The ultimate responsibility of cashing out an annuity and getting the payments rests on the shoulders of the annuitant.

Long-Term Care Insurance Gives You Peace of Mind

Long-term care insurance is purchased for many reasons. In this article I focus on the number one reason you should purchase long-term care insurance. Long-term care insurance puts a plan in place that provides for your loved ones and brings peace of mind at the same time.

Everyone knows a family that has suffered a catastrophe. Long-term care events happen to young working adults as well as active seniors who are just aging as gracefully as possible. The difficulties  families face after the catastrophic event are determined by how well they planned. We all know that advance planning is critical.

So, why do so many people fail to plan for such an occurrence? The key reason why people don't plan is fear and discomfort with facing the prospect of family tragedy especially one in which you are involved. Who wants to discuss your own aging, becoming frail and eventually needing help with the activities of daily living? It is easier not to approach the subject that to picture oneself getting and needing assistance with activities that we take for granted when we are in our youth.

I even hear jokes about what people will do if this does happen to them and then they stick their heads in the sand and pretend everything is fine. The potential consequence of a long-term care event affects you and all the close family and friends around you.  Emotions are not rational and instead of suppressing them and procrastinating it is important to deal with them. Once the emotional hurdle is addressed and crossed, long term care insurance brings relief as well as peace of mind.

Here are some tips that may help you make the right decision:

(1) Contact a Long-Term Care Specialist who has the additional education and training in long-term care financing and planning. A consultation with a long-term care specialist will give you the best options for you and your specific situation.

(2) Think about the importance of your own peace of mind. Let yourself appreciate how much better you would feel if you did not have to worry about your family. Let yourself face the fact that your own fate is ultimately out of your control, but that you can control the impact of your demise on others.

(3) Get an application in as early as possible to be able to qualify for the discounts available for good health and marital or partner status. Without an application, you will not know exactly how you qualify for the policy or exactly what the cost is. After you are approved, you have 30 days to accept, change or decline the plan. You may be pleasantly surprised at how affordable long-term care insurance can be.

How to Improve Reading Speed

You do not have to be a professor or a have an insanely high IQ to be able to read with speed. If you have to read a book for class, a long news article, or a lengthy chapter; improving your reading speed will benefit you tremendously.

More people are starting to apply different techniques and most of them are seeing results instantly. Life right now is going in a fast pace and what better way to accommodate this fast life with even faster reading

Reading faster is not something that is hard to do. Try applying these techniques:

Use Your Finger

While reading, use your finger to help guide you to read the lines. This will literally force you to read faster. You can also use a 3 x 5 card, or if you are the innovative type you can think of something else.

Concentrate

While reading concentrate on what you are reading. Do not let your mind wander of, because if this happens and you notice it you will jump back a couple of lines to see what you missed. Doing this will just waste you valuable time.

Quiet Environment

There should be absolutely no distraction or noise. This will throw you of.

Skim Without Rereading

Go through the pages or articles as fast as you can, by getting a feel for what each page is about. You can try this technique by looking at chapter titles, subtitles, or paragraphs. Try to do this without rereading.

If you follow the tips you will be well on your way to improving your reading speed. If you time your speed, you will not notice a huge difference, yet. But stay consistent and you will be skimming through the text in no time.

Natural Health Education in the 21st Century

In recent times, there has been an increased shift toward natural health and wellness programs both here in America and abroad. Part of this evolution is due in part to the noninvasive nature of integrative and complementary medicines; and with the gaining popularity of these effective yet safe, alternative therapies, comes the necessity for natural healing educational courses.

Natural health schools provide a vast array of healing arts programs including acupuncture and Oriental medicine, chiropractic, energy medicine, homeopathy, naturopathy, massage therapy, and reflexology, among others. Some of the more popular natural health classes are designed to introduce individuals to healthcare disciplines like herbal medicine, aromatherapy and Reiki. But what many individuals do not know is that not only can they attain a comprehensive education in one of the aforementioned studies, but some of these courses result in a degree and/or licensure.

As an example, natural health programs in massage therapy almost always require students to become certified and licensed in the field. While many natural healing schools provide 300-hour training hours, a greater number of massage schools have begun offering 500+ hour massage programs to meet National certification standards.

Other natural health schools are much more course-intensive and require three to four years of practical training and education. For example, in a naturopathic program, students have the potential to earn their Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine Degree (ND). In this particular course of study, students learn about homeopathy, herbs, natural pharmacology, somatic education, and other relative subject matter.

Of course there are many other natural health programs from which to choose, however, before enrolling in one, candidates should examine current trends, career outlook, and whether or not the prospective school offers financial aid programs, in addition to accreditation. Like traditional schools and colleges, natural health schools typically provided clinical internships, continuing education courses, and career placement assistance, as well as financial planning services.

If you (or someone you know) are interested in finding natural health therapies, let professional training within fast-growing industries like massage therapy, cosmetology, acupuncture, oriental medicine, Reiki, and others get you started!
